Most breeds of dogs have rescue groups. You can find them by searching on "dalmation rescue" on the internet. Lots of cat groups, too, with very dedicated people. Local animal shelters also can put you in touch. Checking with the established groups is a quick way of getting information about what resources are already available and what you can do to help. They always need more volunteers and money.
