Imho, The responses to this issue show that many people who purport to be Libertarians are inclined to immediately turn to gvrnmnt to solve their problems and arbitrate their differences.

Also, people seem to be viewing the fact that there is established law regarding a situation as effectively ending any discussion about it.
As tho 'Law' and 'Right' were synonyms.

It seems to me there are a number of people posting here who have a rather selective view of Libertarian thinking.
They want Big Gvrnmnt when it suits their purposes.

Many people who claim to believe in Libertarianism don't really want gvrnmnt out of our lives in the way true Libertarians do. They just want a different arrangement of gvrnmnt intrusions that suits them better.
