The timing of traffic lights is really not a Federal government issue. As far as new domestic energy sources oil is not expensive enough yet to make most of them worthwile.

I'm not 100% sure we should drill in the ANWR even though I am leaning that way as long as steps are taken to limit its impact. In any case allowing drilling on Federally protected land is a federal government issue. Perhaps Bush is making the wrong decision here, but it is an area that it makes sense for a president to address.
