I would like to take this opportunity to brag on my older son - he got another blue ribbon in the Science Fair yesterday - first prize in physics - and will be competing in the regional. I am especially happy because he got a blue ribbon last year, but was disqualified from advancing. The experiment last year was to see if dogs can see color or not, and he tested it by having five different colored plates (red, yellow, blue, black and white, all identical otherwise), and putting a doggy treat on each one, and seeing which one Lizzie, our Golden, went for first. He kept switching the sequence after ten trials, and she preferred the yellow far more than the others!
But the adviser didn't tell him that it's against the rule to experiment on pets, no exceptions!
This year he tested radiation coming from computer monitors, and found that it's actually higher than what's considered safe!
And he is planning on starting a school Libertarian club - which isn't exactly conservative but isn't liberal either. |
