What is the relationship between the Dow and Nasdaq?
I am new to this thread, and I hope someone here would enlighten me with the following questions.
If one only watches the Dow, he does not see a bear market. It is only 4% from the high. It is only a normal correction, ie the bull market is still intact. Nasdaq is a totally different story, it is at 50% from its high. It is much more than a correction. The S&P is about 10% from its all time high. I cannot say we are in a bear market. Perhaps we are in a re-valuation mode. The high growth stocks are being re-valued. Should we look into the P/E ratios rather than the P/E/G. What should one do under such circumstance? Park the money at T-Bills...watch the low P/E stocks...sell all high P/E stocks...Everyone knows and expects the economy to turn around in 6 months after the first rate cut by fed. Should we wait for the summer before investing? Fed fund rate at 5.5% is still high and has plenty of room to cut further.
