Is Broadband Happening? Greg, I wish someone would bring broadband to me! I live in Prairie Grove IL(NW of Chicago, just outside Crystal Lake), and there is no cable in my area. I tried getting DSL and although it is advertized as being ready in my area, when I call it is "uh ....sorry not yet", next quarter they say. I do have a satellite dish. Supposedly I should be able to get a satellite internet connection. I tried calling the company(www.directPC.com), was put on hold forever, but eventually talked to someone who said I needed to book the equipment order through them but the installation through another company. She said I had to call the installation company first. So.......... I called the installation company first and guess what? Well ..... They do not have equipment (it is different than my TV connection) and referred me back to the Satellite company. I could not get through. Busy signal for at least a day. Finally, I got through to guess what .....? An easy guess I bet.... An Answering Machine. I left an equipment BUY ORDER but have not gotten a call back for 3 days. You tell me....... Is broadband happening? M
