Navigator Exploration and Canabrava Diamond's first drill hole of the 2001
winter drilling program on the Kat project has intercepted kimberlite. This
new discovery is located within four kilometres of four kimberlite pipes
previously identified by De Beers, including the diamondiferous Victor
pipe, which is undergoing advanced assessment. The drill hole encountered
three metres of overburden before collaring in kimberlite. At the time of
this release, 12 metres of core has been recovered and drilling is
continuing. Further information will be reported when available.
The Kat project forms part of the Severn joint venture, an agreement
between Navigator and Canabrava to explore more than 400,000 square
kilometres the Superior province in Northern Ontario.
