All: Just returned from my one day whirlwind tour of the VIASOFT User Conference. Major disappointment ... not the conference ... but the fact that my favorite chocolate chip cookies weren't served this year. But, I did get a real fancy ball point pen (plastic) with the new VIASOFT logo on it.

This year's conference was very different than prior affairs. There was an entire hallway reserved for displays by VIAS' various "Solution Partners". I counted 16 different companies with booths. (For you techies out there ... 16 ... a factor of 2 ... coincidence, or just the binary influence of our ever-expanding world?) Many of those partners license the VIAS technology and Y2K processes. It appears to me that VIAS will be "blowin' and goin'" for the foreseeable future (I can't see squat beyond the Year 2000).

Not exactly sure how to summarize all the data. There are lots of techies out there in SI land who would like a technical overview of the presentations I saw, but most of the investors would consider it boring and a waste of space. If you're interested in my analysis, email me and I'll ship you a copy. If I get enough requests, I'll just post it.

From an investing perspective, the picture looks very rosy. It seems to me that VIASOFT technology will be the center post in a very rapidly turning wheel, with the spokes being the solution partners.

I'll post my Matridigm thoughts on the ZITL thread, and the Peritus thoughts on the Peritus thread (duh!).

If anybody has a specific question, just ask. I'll do what I can to answer for you.

Regards,

TED
