Hi Marcos,

Ah! an Algonquin Honey brown, Voyageur on Fox with the dynamic duo (Kate Mulgrew and Geri Ryan).. mp3's downloading and the fire crackling.

I'm no O&G guru, just learning and a little lucky. I'm playing only a couple.

GOU TSE. It's got great assets, solid management and is undervalued still in this environment (possible takeover but management appears to be striving to stay independent). It's the elephant in my portfolio. I sold all in the run up late this summer, I reloaded in the fall. gulf.ca

GOU.PR.A. TSE same company. Solid dividend. (was 7%+ when I bought) with decent upside in share appreciation. I needed a breather from trading in my daughter's RESP. This was a safe bet with regular income.

OXY (US) Like GOU.PR.A it has a solid dividend + share appreciation potential (up nicely actually) + sells into California gas crisis + has interests in Elk Hills (near Bakersfield, near East Lost Hills ;0) ).

EEE TSE Had a boatload of this due bad timing on my initial purchase and a long arduous road of averaging down.
I unloaded the bulk in the summer for an infinitesimal profit (beer, pretzels and commission) but bought back a small position on retrace as a spec play for the expected buyout and positive earnings.

KEG (US) Quality driller. Still a bit undervalued IMO even with recent run up. I sold today on spike (too early though as it kept on going). I will buy back on weakness.

GW (US) Don't confuse with GW on TSE. Another Driller that had a good run. Not as solid as KEG. Sold it today on weakness to preserve profit. May buy back in 5.5-5.8 range.

PGO (US) Seismic data. This is a good example of what you're talking about with Tech meeting Old Economy. Basically I look at it as a knowledge based business. Too beaten down IMO and should be good for a bit from here pgs.com

BOU (TSE) Canadian driller with rumours of good earnings. (Earnings should be on the rise in drillers and other service stocks for a while) bonusgroup.com

TEO (TSE) You've probably noticed this due to recent run up on volume ? No position yet. I'm looking more LT on this one. They have a newer drill technique ( aha! more Tech ) and a good web site. Has a 'tech feel' tescocorp.com

plus others on radar

Gotta go, falling asleep a the wheel
regards
Kastel

EDIT PS I guess I better look up the definition of a couple :0)
