Joe,

President Johnson was the last president before Clinton to have a balanced budget. In the interim we had Republican Presidents for 16 out of 20 years, and the National Debt increased by 3000%.

Republican Presidents are incompetent at managing the budget. Period.

Bush Sends $1.6 Trillion Tax Cut to Congress
By Patricia Wilson

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Calling signs of a downturn ``a warning light flashing on the dashboard'' of the U.S. economy, President George W. Bush (news - web sites) sent a $1.6 trillion tax cut to Congress that he said would jump start growth.

Why is Bush so intent on hurrying the vote on this? Is he afraid that by the time the the next few rounds of economic news comes out, it will become obvious that the cut is not needed to stimulate the economy?

Is he afraid that he won't get credit for "fixing" his phoney-baloney recession?

The man should be in jail. Not in the Whitehouse.
