combjelly Re..Either way you do this it is going to be problematic because of the heat generated. And putting a big heat generator on permafrost might be considered a bad idea. Now it might be possible to pipe it to a floating facility where the SO2 scrubbing/LNG production/catalytic conversion to longer chain HCs occurs. But SO2 is corrosive through several mechanisms so the distance it is piped had better be short. Or you put up with periodic leaks. <<<<< I have no idea of the specifics or whether it is even feasable in Anwar. I was responding to Scumbria's post where he stated the natural gas had to be piped as a gas. It may in Anwar, I don't know, but there are technologies out there which do allow natural gas to be liqified under certain circumstances. Wily posted one about Rentech. As far as heat is concerned, I know from construction, it is possible to isolate it, so that shouldn't be insurmountable.
