Joe was saying that being Christian did not mean sharing your wealth with the government. I don't think that is supported by the Bible, unless there is some translation I am not aware of. And where did it mention anything about whether the taxes were just or unjust? During Christ's time, Judea and the surrounding area was occupied by the Romans. All taxes and the government itself was considered to be unjust, yet that phrase is still there. Not that opposing tax increases or supporting tax cuts is a bad thing, but the Bible doesn't provide any support for it. That is a secular concern.
