... In order for anything to fly.........Lift + Thrust must be > than Drag. The equation is wrong as it leaves out gravity (or weight) and is combining forces in different directions. For steady aircraft flight the equation is: Lift = Weight; Thrust = Drag For baloon flight, Lift = Weight Tulvio
