Iceberg, consider this scenario: Let's say that Iomega responded to the NYSE and issued a statement that they are "not in takeover discussions". What would then be their response in the future if this happened again and they actually were in takeover discussions? Either they would have to reveal their plans, or issue a "no comment" which would then be the same as saying "we are in discussions", because of the precedent they had set now.
