note that the CFTC report describes the situation as of Feb. 6. - yesterday saw heavy fund selling , so their net short has likely grown again.

and you're right, it's psychologically hard...all those stories about falling demand from India, and increased hedging by the producers (at what will likely prove to be exactly the wrong moment once again) have the whole trade shaking in its boots...
