Tony
as per the following site mobile palomino price is already available for 1GHz parts and 1.1GHz would be available in the 2nd quarter. AMD also dropped production of t-birds at below 900MHz. Desktop Palominos would appear in 3rd quarter and by the end of the year the lower offerings would be at 1.2/1.3GHz and high would be at 1.6/1.73GHz. By the end of the year morgans would be between 1.1Ghz and 950MGz.
From those roadmaps it looks like that p4-2GHz would be competing against palomino 1.733MHz. At lower end pIII-1.13GHz is going to compete against palomino 1.2GHz. Looking at the current performance ratio of p4-1.5GHz to athlon 1.2GHz, I wonder what ratio would be for p4-2GHz to palomino 1.733GHz. (we don't even need to talk about price-performance ratios)
As for via, I have posted the article that indicated growing demand for via and especially via chipsets for amd.
