With all the competing uses for capital I'm sure the first major grocery chain will need to be convinced of both cost savings and other possible benefits (higher margins, better inventory management, etc.) before they will make a big plunge.

Though, once one selects ESLs, maybe the others will follow because of competitive pressures. Time will tell.
