Mike, Regarding this note from the cut/paste in your post which seems to speculate that Nortel's Clarify division consolidated its sales force recently into its switching division, "One of its three largest competitors by virtually anyone's definition no longer has a sales force dedicated to selling front office products (Vantive and Oracle being the other two)"

First of all, I realize that these were not your comments. In any event, I have a friend that works for Nortel (formerly for Clarify before the merger) and he has told me a little about their sales re-org (as he works in this area - presales specifically). In his words, they have made changes so they can sell end-to-end solutions. I haven't asked him specifically, but I think this meant they were integrating sales of other software so they could offer a more complete package. Hope this helps.
