Dave,

I've noticed that Intel has made a big push into Fry's in the last 6 months.

Don't put too much stock in it, because Duron is much faster than Celeron, and the low end of Athlon is higher performance than the high end of PIII.

Try out Best Buy, or CompUSA or Office Depot for a more accurate picture of retail. Fry's is a local California phenomenon, though I used to buy peanut butter at Fry's in Tempe.
