Tim,

Obviously the internal combustion engine needs to be eliminated as quickly as possible. We need large quantities of petroleum for plastics, chemicals, fertilizers, and medicines.

If we allow cars to use up the last drop of oil, we will have a very serious problems on our hands. Without plastic, our world will not function.
