Not stood, stands. Well fundamentally it is the incredibly dim wit of our clueless leader Junior George W. Bush. This leads to his tax cut. His tax cut gives us short term good-feely money flow and in the long run guts the government revenue. (No sour grapes, I'll get more from this deal in taxes than most Americans make, but I know a bad payout when I see it).

What does it mean? In the next 4 years (until the smarter public throws W out on his a*s) the government revenues will be reduces to at best ordinary. If we are lucky we will survive without becoming second economic fiddle to someone else. We will not do anything great, a colony on the Moon, Fusion electricity, or something I haven't thought of. We will be d**m lucky to mark time. Junior has wounded if not killed the idea that America can be great, a decline can be swift.
