That's only because I started accumulating ntap in August of 1999, Jack. It appears that there is some offset to having patience if you don't have timing <gg>. But my more recent purchases made in January 2000 are only slightly profitable at this point.

I feel very comfortable with my ntap position following their earnings report. Considering the state of the economy, I think they posted extremely good results and the forward outlook they presented was bright. And while I don't expect them to be an anti-gravity machine in a lousy market, I am encouraged to think that they may have established a floor and will progress steadily as the year goes on.

LTB&H isn't in favor at the moment, though I haven't seen the swing and day traders doing much better. But the thought that one can time purchases and sales is so seductive that most of our peers will be trying their luck. I hope they realize that if they are successful in some of their trades, unpaid tax liability is equivalent to margin. Some very sorry folks didn't appreciate that fact until the market crashed in March 2000, just before their 1999 taxes were due.

Good luck at keeping your grip on ntap. Imho it's an outstanding company.
