You make a strong case for this move by GE, frankly I do not understand it.

Even before Hon/Allied Sig is cut by 45%, the share dilution to GE is far too high a price to pay. After the cuts and the attendant costs, the remnanats of Hon/Allied will not be adequate to pay back that dilution.

Most mergers and acquisitions actually fail to come anywhere near intended performance targets.
