><>...Son of perdition...><>
Hi Greg I trust all is well with you and your family. Good to see you again.
Greg, There is only one son of perdition....and unfortunately many have been mis-taught that it is Judas, but that cannot be....for various reasons.!!
Consider, if you will, in depth the following: Strong's #684 apoleia (ap-o'-li-a); from a presumed derivative of 622; ruin or loss (physical, spiritual or eternal): damnable (-nation), destruction, die, perdition, X perish, pernicious ways, waste. ____________ ____________ There is only one who fits that description....There can be only one.
Rev 9:11 11 And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.
623 Apolluon (ap-ol-loo'-ohn); active participle of 622; a destroyer (i.e. Satan): KJV-- Apollyon.
That is who our Lord Jesus was referring to in John 17:12....satan..Ez.28 and Is.14...That scripture might be fulfilled....satan is the only one, to even this day, that has already been judged to death!!...Not another sould yet!!
Consider still the following: Rev 17:8 8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. Again speaking of satan.
Rev 17:11 11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition. Again speaking of satan.
Also consider if you will, the teaching of Paul: II Th 2:3-4 3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. Here again Paul speaks of no other but satan himself.
Paul warns us there not to be deceived.....that two events must first happen..... before our Lord will return. ______________ ______________
Judas repented....he was not lost to Christ. Matt 27:3 3 Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,
The words of our Lord Jesus the Christ: Luke 13:3 3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
What shall we say then.... Christ is a liar? God forbid. We Have his word. He taught through out the NT..forgiveness and repentance....., and we all know there is only one unforgivable sin...and God knows Judas was not guilty of it.
If you would like to discuss it further...please feel free to do so.
Have a most blessed evening Shalom...><>
II Th 2:3-4 3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. |
