Now is that statement the word of God or the word of shalom? You say only one fits the description of "son of perdition", but I believe you are mistaken. Satan was never referred to as anyones "son of perdition" in the scriptures. In fact to call the devil a son of perdition is insinuating he had a father whose nature was that of perdition. The scriptures point out that he had no father but was a created being by God Himself.

On the other hand Jesus once told a group of people, that they do what their father the devil does. Spiritually speaking that certainly nominates them as sons of perdition.
