Reagan also promised to cut spending but he didn't do it. In fact, he always requested more spending in his budgets than Congress appropriated and huge deficits followed. We should not be fooled once again. The surplust should be used for debt reduction. The Bush tax cut is very bad news for the Baby boomer generation who will enter their retirement years under a large national debt.
