What makes you all assume that someone need have a large financial stake in something to be negative.
Perhaps I wasn't very clear, because you seemed to miss my point. I was expressing surprise that someone would put forth such time and effort into debating on this thread when they had so little at stake. It would seem to me that that quantity of time and effort would've brought them greater returns if they were to apply themselves with equal vigour toward just about any other endeavour. One would think that even at minimum wage, they'd be ahead.
I doubt many people are shooting the messenger because of the message. It seems the message's delivery is what's upsetting them. Observe the thread's reception to JS's negative views of CSCO: Most engage in discussing the points he makes, attempting to further his, and their, understanding of the current situation and likely future developments. Few attack.
Further, people are not idiots, morons, arse-holes, dolts, losers, and shit-heads because they see a situation differently. If someone is wrong, they provide the counterparty to our trades, and provide a valuable service to us. If they are right, they do this and profit as well.
Recently, this thread had degenerated into a forum of insults. After some warnings from SI officials, things changed, but I see the deterioration returning. We'll see if this trend continues or reverses.
Currentlly, the consensus of this thread is quite negative for CSCO. The media shares this view too. Recent share prices reflect this sentiment. Price bottoms form in such environments.
