I'm sure Searle's words sum up the sentiments for all of us here quite accurately. We ply threads such as these for information that gives us an edge in acquiring $$$. The companies we follow produce precious metals--silver, gold, platinum, palladium--and what is mined out of the earth becomes a basis of wealth of sorts for the populations of the world. But we all know deep down that the only thing of lasting worth that we encounter in this earthly existence is the human soul. It is not a thing the value of which can be adequately grasped in the meager years alloted we mortals in human form. And even far removed from the presence of others by distance with only the typing of letters on a keyboard as a form of communication, the personality and life of the soul can not be kept hidden. From my POV, the one thing necessary to grasp the value of the human soul is the eternity God has in store for us is. -Alan
