scott i'm not looking at the tip in that light, though it's written like that is a big advantage. i like it simply for the 'send to' function. do you ever use send to, scott? "Right now if you double click the item, it opens in the associated program." yes. but it doesn't send it anywhere. like if i have a floppy with a file from another pc. i put it in my floppy drive, view the files by clicking the A:drive in explorer, right-click the desired file on the floppy, and choose 'send to'. the resulting menu right now gives me 6 choices (destinations). none of them are of my making. i can now add items (destinations) to the 'send to' list. for instance, i want to add 'my documents' to the 'send to' list. make sense? :) mark
