SCUMbria - re: "According to Intel's roadmap, PIII reached 1.13 GHz about six months ago." According to AMD's RoadMap, SMP AthWipers were due In Volume Production six months ago. By the way - Intel has had 1.5 GHz CPUS in Production for over 4 months.
