Plus I think that many people were drawn into the market post-1998; once it appeared clear that the world was not ending (then), much of the speculative mania really took off.

It was all supply and demand really; small floats allowed the inside crew to distribute their cheap paper at astronomical prices and the ever increasing demand as new 'investors' and 'traders' were enticed to join the 'fun' by Stuart, Tow Truck Driver (and his island), Kids Flying Helicopters, etc.

Some may find this talk entirely too cynical but I believe it to be accurate!

Still, there's nothing wrong with some intelligent speculation, is there? Just as long as we keep things in perspective and see them for what they really are.
