"Perhaps you can impune their accuracy." Why? I believe they reported it accurately, and that you transcibed it accurately. I find it hard to believe that any engineer would claim that anything non-trivial would scale infinitely. That would imply that the whole design is so well balanced that there will be no speed path problems that creep in and will limit the speed as processes get better. And that is a fantasy. So, either he is lying and knows it, or he is totally unaware of what he is saying. If it is the second, then Intel is promoting people based on things other than competence, and that can only be good news for AMD. Having said that, Intel presented some good papers. It is good to see that they are keeping DEC's design for the XScale, much of the paper that talked about the XScale and the SOI process was discussed 4 years ago at DEC for StrongArm2...
