<< You may think it's generalizing, but I think the author of that column is correct when he says that pro abortion people shrink from the word "kill." >> I disagree. I think that the organized support for abortion rights needs to play the political game, just like the Pro Fetus organization needs to play politics. In public forum, sometimes it is a war of words and impressions that ultimately wins. But, here in the trenches, the pro abortion, pro life individuals, such as myself, don't care what you call abortion, as long as it is legal, inexpensive and available. << The shading of language by both sides has always interested me, but it seems to me that the Left has been far more egregious in their twisting of words. >> Yeh, sure. Both sides play to the general public, in order to gain support. The Pro Fetus cult says that they are trying to protect the health of the mother by outlawing RU486 or abortion. At the same time, they refuse to allow partial birth abortions, in the cases where the life or health of the mother is at risk. The Pro Fetus cult calls the killing of fetus, the killing of babies. They also call the killing of an embryo, the killing of babies. Now we are being hit with the bs and hype about women having post traumatic syndrome due to having abortions, when it is obvious that the Pro Fetus cult is only interesting in outlawing abortion, instead of leaving the traumatic decision up to the woman. By the way, thanks, also, for your honesty. |
