Pravin:

"Two AMD 1.2GHz Athlon systems, one with PC133 memory, the other with Double Date Rate (DDR) RAM, outperformed an Intel 1.5GHz Pentium 4 system by 13.20 percent and 19.29 percent, respectively.

Based on memory, motherboard and processor street prices, the AMD DDR system would cost around $200 less than the Intel system, even though DDR will cost more than the Rambus memory used for the Intel Pentium 4. Similarly, the AMD PC133 system would cost around $560 less than the Intel system."

Just about says ita all...the P4 can't compete with the Athy on a performance basis...and the P4 can't compete with the Athy on a price basis...Quite a reversal of roles from just over 1 year ago...(And chances are, the favourable AMD price/performance gap is only going to increase as AMD rolls out its new products in Y2001...that is, Athy enhancements will be greater than P4 enhancements in Y2001!!!)
