The day some weirdo decides you're his cyber-babe will be the day you wish you would not advertise so much about yourself.

I have heard advice from police that say if you're a single lady not to put your address in the phone book. Put your first initial and last name, not your first name. On your answering machine say "were not home", instead of "I am not home".....and that advice is from experts.

Yet when it comes to the Internet, people are so free to give away info, WHY?

For the poster who is posting while they suppose to be working (many do this) do you think they would want their real identities known?

The more controversy the subject you chat about, the more likely you are going to pick up a screwball.

If it was not for anonymous posting, message boards would not be as popular as they are.

There are people on SI that know who I am and where I live, but I trust them.
