Anonymity is fine

I don't have a problem with it. I'm not saying you're a wimp for not standing behind your post and hiding behind a screen name. I'm just saying that not being anonymous is not that bad. I don't get nasty emails from posters. I don't get mean phone calls. I don't get snail mail or people at my door. I even agreed to meet some posters at events and nobody ever shows up. They all wuss out. I'm posting on motorcycle message boards. You do get bikers. I've seen some of the posters in person and they don't even say a word to me.

If you have someone's name, you can easily get the rest of their information, DOB, SS#, address, phone, neighbors. I was anonymous when I first started posting in the newsgroups then someone outed me and posted all of my personal information including the last three places I lived and my entire legal name which I never use. There is no way to really hide anymore. If someone wants you, they'll find you, listed phone number or not. I was easily able to get the home addresses, phone numbers of the entire BOD and upper management of BIKR just by doing a little online research. I was doing a little asset search which I turned over to some attornies looking at a class action suit against bikr. There's just no place to hide anymore.

Again, I have nothing against being anonymous.
