From the Indianapolis Business Journal January 15,2001.

"Tim Durham's father-in-law, Beurt SerVaas, saved The Saturday Evening POst from the brink of ruin in the 1960's and now Durham sees similar potential in another once-vaunted brand name- National Lampoon. Durham, an Indianapolis businessman, over the past three months spent $853,155 to accumulate a 5.3% stake in J2 Communications Inc., the Los Angeles firm that owns the National Lampoon name. He is the third businessman to take a big stake in J2. Biltmore Homes owners Dan Laikin and Paul Skjodt collectively own a 23-percent stake and are trying to oust the company's management... Durham agrees with Laikin and Skjodt that it could be much more. "I understand what a brand can do for somebody," said Durham, CEO of Obsidian Capital. "Once you have captured that position, it is hard to shake it out of people's mind."
