It wouldn't surprise me to see a multilink scheme adopted, using the forwarding rates of two 10Gb/s ports. There would be a penalty, and it would be twisting the meaning of a true full rate forwarding rate, but doable. In contrast, waiting for silicon to achieve filtering and forwarding at the OC-768 40 Gb/s rate could take a long time. FWIW.

John C. had asked about Procket earlier. Does anyone have anything interesting to say about them?
