Back in the Roaring '20's, not too long before the crash, I several prominent and highly respected economists announced that the business cycle was no more; it had been repealed, that a permanent period of prosperity was going to be the norm. I heard this again during the '60's five-year expansion and again recently in the late '90's. Few really want the carnival ride to stop. Fewer still seem to know when to get off...or go short.
