Talk about being two faced. I bitch about the off-topic posts with shots at people, then turn around and douse the fire with gasoline myself.
It looks like being correct is very important to people. Perhaps there's some connection between self-image and trading success. It's no fun being poked in the ribs by a friendly finger, but if done in moderation, one can eventually laugh along too. But when it becomes a smouldering poker repeatedly shoved into the eyes, most people react strongly.
Remember, he who laughs last laughs best. The market craps on CSCO every five years. Today's price of ridicule will be tomorrow's lost opportunity. Also, when the longs' turn comes, and it will, I hope we don't debase ourselves with the same behaviour we complain about today, although I'm far more optimistic about CSCO's share prices than about this, given recent posts.
Cheers, PW.
P.S. As I remember things, you and I had some dispute about something (not CSCO) a couple of years ago. We couldn't seem to find any common ground at all. I also remember we debated our positions without insults, put downs, name calling, or threats, and finally just agreed drop the matter. We proved it can be done. (If you remember what it was about, please refrain from jogging my memory.) |
