We shall see, but my bet now is that there won't be snow on the ground in my neck of the woods by the time they get that sucker rolled out [unless of course it's delayed until next winter.

I have no idea. They're shipping USIII workstations, somebody leaks a story about a big-machine cluster, yadda yadda yadda. At this point the US3 is so messed up that I disbelieve anything Sun says about it until serious shipments are happening. Zander & McNealy are using the market-share issue to distract from the botch job. Who cares.

OT: Just heard on the ten'o'clock news, sandwiched in-between a story about a guy who burned himself up by smoking in bed and a 20-second piece on a new obesity drug, that Gates will announce the revolutionary new OS "Whistler" on Tuesday, an operating system that "will be the buzz of the industry" and "will change the way we compute at home and at work".

The ten o'clock news? Hey wow, M$ is really going all out to make this particular nothing into something. More smoke than the guy who incinerated himself. Maybe they're going to change the blue screen to green?
