Premediated murder is still murder legal or illegal.

Actually, murder is a legal definition that specifically means that it is unlawful.

The danger of abortion isn't terribly relevant considering how dangerous birth is.

The real issue is that those who support the right to abortion do not believe they are commiting homocide. That is, the fetus does not have the complete set of characteristics that would allow the complete set of rights that are imparted on birthed humans.

Pro-life supporters believe that the fetus has all of the characteristics that make it human and therefore subject to all of the protection imparted to birthed humans.

I believe that self awareness happens some time before birth (I have no idea when). I personally believe that self awareness is a good demarcation point for when abortion would be acceptable or not. But since I don't know when it happens, I have a tough time telling someone else what to do with their body or imposing my belief of what the demarcation point should be.

But, I also believe that if you believe abortion to be homocide, that you have a personal obligation to say something about it. But until you "know" that a fetus has all of the characteristics that make it a complete human being (as opposed to a potential human being), that the argument should be posed respectful of the other side's views.
