There have been lots of arguments made for the demise of Cisco's financial condition with the decline of stock prices, their own as well as others.

Considering that the stock price has been going down pretty steadily for the better part of 9 months, it would seem from the bear predictions that CSCO should already be trading in the single digits. Cisco missed by a penny, but the argument that has been made is that they couldn't make their numbers if it wasn't for the employees exercising their stock and getting Cisco tax benefits that were on par with a major percentage of their earnings and then there was the earnings based on proceeds from investments.

Why hasn't the balance sheet been hit harder if all of the bear arguments were valid?
