Visto Corporation Partners with QUALCOMM to Extend Enterprise Mobility
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 12, 2001--Visto Corporation, a leading provider of enterprise mobility software and services, today announced that QUALCOMM Incorporated (Nasdaq:QCOM - news) has selected Visto as a partner to extend its Enterprise Mobility application on the Binary Runtime Environment for Wireless(TM) (BREW(TM)) applications platform for Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) wireless devices.
QUALCOMM's BREW platform, announced in a separate release by QUALCOMM on January 31, 2001, will provide a standard, familiar programming environment that enables application development for the large and growing CDMA market.
The Visto solution is aimed at enterprise customers who need a secure, cost-effective way to provide mobile and wireless access to corporate information. Visto's enterprise mobility solution extends the functionality of leading corporate messaging applications, allowing the mobile workforce immediate access to critical office applications such as email, calendar and contacts directly from their wireless device. Over the next few months, Visto will be working directly with carriers and handset manufacturers to enable the successful delivery of these solutions into the enterprise.
