Advanced Radio Telecom Reports Strong Sales of New Service; Sales of BroadStream Internet Service on Record Pace Since Debut

BELLEVUE, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 12, 2001--Advanced Radio Telecom Corp. (ART) (Nasdaq:ARTT), a leading provider of broadband fixed wireless Internet services, today announced that it has signed more than 80 customers to its BroadStream(TM) Internet Service since the service became commercially available on January 9, 2001.

The service is selling at a faster pace than any other bandwidth offering the company has previously marketed and, according to ART's CEO, Wharton "Zie" Rivers, demonstrates that the dramatic value proposition offered by ART is achieving critical success in the market.

ART's BroadStream Internet Service offers burstable broadband Internet access up to 100 Mbps for $1,000 a month and easy "plug and play" transition from a user's current service to ART's all-IP network. Once a building is "lit" with ART's wireless technology, ART can provision BroadStream Internet Service in as fast as 10 working days and has a service level agreement that provides for 100 percent availability.

"Our goal was to offer the market a broadband access solution that disrupted the status quo," said Rivers. "We have done that. Our service offering is not only eloquent in its simplicity; it is nearly impossible to beat. We offer plug and play access, carrier class reliability, complete scalability and an unheard of bandwidth-to-price ratio.

"While we're obviously very pleased with the early and dramatic success of BroadStream Internet Service, we're hardly surprised," Rivers added.

Sales have come from customers who migrated from T-1 and DSL service; customers who have grown tired of waiting for local phone companies to provision; and still other customers who have been paying more for less bandwidth.
