Oh let's not get into a p*ssing contest about who cooked what benchmark to make what processor look better. It seems like most benchmarks these days are cooked up by gormet chefs with an axe to grind... I still contend that the SPEC benchmarks are probably one of the better ones out there in measuring raw performance potential which can be tapped (or not tapped) by software developers. It says that the P4 has a lot of untapped potential... which some other benchmarks (Quake for example among others) offer tantalizing glimpses at...
