LOL. All's weld that ends weld. The Musical Fidelity A300 integrated amp I have now is probably as close to high end amplification I have owned ( but it MUCH cheaper). Sounds fine. Will take most any speakers ...even ones with wicked impedance curves ...on a pleasant drive. Many...very many..think audiophile concerns are bullshit. Al Cassaro, a talented musician and writer, who loves music as much as anyone I have ever met, is one. Me, I think the Empress (the audiophile scene)has at least an ermine garter belt and one silk stocking on. High end equipment is more fun to listen to in my experience. But worth the price of admission? Nahhh.....usually not unless price is no object; and if you own AXC price is ALWAYS an object so far. Had hoped long ago that Ampex would take advantage of its name and either sponsor or produce an ultra high end limited edition digital tape deck, somewhat like Nagra's. nagra.com Not as a full time business but for a quick score. I think it would have sold like hotcakes internationally. But they were aiming at bigger fish in many arenas. Hope they catch em someday.
