Yeah there is a trend towards ERP/business core functionality + appl server = new product. Its about time for this since the internet the IT landscape has too many disparate products.

I think arba might be going in that direction with agile - say you were a new manufacturer you would just buy ariba for your mfg needs which would replace the old model of ERP AND appl server. The problem with broadvision doing this is that I don't think they have much core business there... mostly just an order-taking solution, no true order cycle with demand etc. So I like arba better than bvsn here.

San seems like its good with ntap but isn't emlx also in that business (anyone?)
