Time for some friendly disagreement.

I don't totally agree with Diana, but I do think she makes some valid points. Her contention that some of us here only go along with libertarian principles insofar as they benefit us personally, is, IMO, valid.

Whether we agree or not, her ideas are considered and well-presented. I think that much of the animosity her posts evoked was from just that challenge -- she took the ideas presented here and carried them beyond what we intended. There was no way to refute what she said based on our own principles, and so there was anger.

Quick story: A visitor to pre-Mao China saw two rickshaw drivers heatedly arguing, veins popping out, screaming at the top of their lungs. The visitor asked his driver why they didn't just fight and get it over with. The Chinese driver replied that the first one to throw a punch was admitting that he didn't know what to say, and would therefore lose the argument.

Draw your own conclusions to the parable.
