Wow, speaking of EMC, I had a strange thing happen today.
I posted this on another board, but I can't get an answer yet. Maybe someone here could enlighten me.
This AM before leaving for work I decided to buy EMC Feb. 60 calls.
I figured EMC's Max Pain point of 70 was reachable as storage was a safe tech haven and EMC was a good place to park money since it is a large cap.
I never saw the EMLX warning, and I can only really trade before work or while at lunch.
After seeing what happened to EMLX, I feared the worst. I saw that EMC traded down to 50.
Well, I checked my e-mails at home and saw executions for my calls shortly after open for $1.25. Half an hour later, I got e-mails saying the executions were posted wrong and the correct execution would be advised.
My last message said my execution was at $0.20
My calls are still out of the money, but it appears I got filled near the day's low and made 3X money. It might be because I'm one of those select clients that they did something goofy for me. I'm not curious enough to ask, as I don't want anything changed.
Anyone ever had this happen? I think I had it happen once before, but it was not this much of a difference.
I'm waiting until Thursday to sell, as I think EMC may hit 56-58 tomorrow, 60-62 on Wednesday, and possibly 64-66 intra-day on Thursday.
We'll see what develops. |
